Dr. Shelley Murphy to speak at YGSE Wellness Retreat

Shelley Murphy received a PhD from the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto where she now teaches in the Master of Teaching Program and Wellbeing Emphasis. She teaches courses in Mindfulness in Education and Special Education, Mental Health and Well-being. Shelley specializes and has trained in the science of mindfulness and mindfulness approaches for school settings. She has been a mindfulness practitioner and educator for 20 years. Her work as a teacher educator, author, and mindfulness teacher is also informed by her former role as an elementary school teacher and her research in the field. Her work was featured in Thich Nhat Hanh’s most recent book, “Happy Teachers Change the World” and his journal, The Mindfulness Bell. Her most recent publication, Fostering Mindfulness, was released in 2019 through Pembroke Publishers
