You are invited to our Constitution Committee's town hall meeting. Over the past three months, the Constitution Committee has been working together to revise the YGSE's constitution for the sake of clarity, equity, and creating community.
We invite you to attend our Constitution Review Town Hall on Sept. 27 from 12 - 1:30 via Zoom. Please register for our town hall here.
During the town hall, we will listen to your feedback about our proposed changes to the constitution.
Timeline for constitutional changes
  • Sept. 27 - Town Hall
  • Sept. 28 - Proposed Changes finalized and communicated with the student body
  • Oct. 5 (tentative date) - YSGE Council meeting where changes are voted on by YGSE Council members (all are welcome to attend this meeting!)
  • After YGSE Council meeting - Revised Constitution is communicated with all students and posted on the website
Why should you care?
The YGSE serves as our student council to help support students and ensure that student voice is heard within our faculty and university.  As representatives of the students, the constitution is one way that we are held accountable to the entire student body. Participating in this constitutional review will help you understand the inner workings of graduate student governance.
